FULFILLING OUR MISSION

literary for children in high point

One way the High Point Library places an emphasis on literacy in our community is to focus on reaching out to neighborhoods that face challenges such as poverty, food insecurity and transportation access. The library’s goal is to send their bookmobile to the children of these neighborhoods with books to borrow and to keep! They hope to reach about 50 kids each week.

High Point Literary League members can help the Library help purchase books for the “Literacy for Children in High Point Program,” with their donations. For more information, contact Mary Sizemore at 336-883-3694 or send a contribution to: Friends of the High Point Library, P.O. Box 2530, High Point, NC 27261.

Note in the memo line that the contribution is for Literacy for Children program and be sure to mention that you are a High Point Literary League member!

Membership

High Point Literary League welcomes Triad residents who share the League’s passion for reading and literary excellence. Members are invited to two luncheons annually that feature nationally renowned authors, and members may bring guests to these events.

History

The High Point Literary League formed in 1981 when 17 local book clubs teamed up to charter an organization that would “sponsor an annual luncheon featuring nationally known authors.”

The mission of the High Point Literary League is to ignite, enhance, and nurture the appreciation of literature in our community.
